I got an invite for 2017. I don't know how accurate the website is, but they mention there are no plans to expand EF nor is there a wait list. Maybe these invites went to people due to current members not renewing for 2017?

Troy stated today that they were adding a few more members for next year....he didn't say how many but I don't think very many.

Edit: he previously said he wasn't going to announce openings for new 2017 members so I think it's based on people who had put in a request last year and didn't make the cut for 2016.

Yo people,

My buddy is getting married next month and he's a big fan of Casey beer, so I'd love to get a Magnum of some sort to open during the reception. I've already tried emailing Troy and they don't have any available at the brewery at the moment. I believe I've read before that Extended Family members are able to buy these large format bottles occasionally, so was wondering how difficult it'd be to trade for one (preferably a fruited sour)?

I traded a magnum I had for a St. Lam and Saison du Fermier. I don't know if that was a good deal or not but I was happy with the trade so whatever. I've seen some magnums listed FT on one of the Denver Facebook groups...if I have a chance I can see if they're still up if you aren't in that group.

Don't listen to ASak10 . Denver Beer Traders will take way too much. Trust me. ;)

I got a buddy with a few, he might be interested

Yeah, I'm not in any Denver Facebook groups so if you happen to see any while you're browsing sometime let me know.

That place sucks. I think about leaving every time I see another stupid post...but it's like trying to turn away from a wreck. I can't stop looking.

I've got a Blackberry CFP magnum I bought on a whim and doubt I'll drink anytime soon. A wedding sounds like a good use for it. Send me a PM if you haven't procured one yet.

EDIT: I also don't Facebook.

I'm new to EF this year, anyone know how common it is to get the chance to buy magnums? I searched on the EF facebook page but never saw anything posted about it.

At the member party last year each member had the chance to buy a magnum. I believe the ones left over from that were for purchase for members at the next member Saturday.

Magnums used to be more common in the early days of Casey. At some of the earlier releases, 10-30 or so magnums were available to the first people in line as an incentive to come to releases and generate a little extra excitement. That pretty much ended by the summer of 2015 as Troy had to make constant changes to the way releases functioned in order to REDUCE lining up early and the drama that came with that.

Since then, magnums have been periodically sold to members and have been given to volunteers as a "thank you" for helping pick fruit, process fruit, etc. Per Matt's comment, I believe last summer was the last time a good quantity of magnums were sold (to members). I know Troy mentioned not too long ago that he ordered more magnum bottles, so it seems like they will be on the horizon again.

the pre-trading that goes on in that group is comical
I sometimes take a chance and pre-trade for something I think will be really good. I pre-traded for 8 Merlot Cut and I'm glad I did. That beer is fantastic. I should qualify my post with I don't pre-trade away beers. I've only pre-traded for beers.

I've squirreled-away more Merlot Cuts than any other Cut. It's so damn good.

Yesterday on DBT was enough to make me quit. 15 pre trade offers, I don't think a single closed. 75% by the same moron.

Sorry to come to the conversation late, but what are people pre-trading at such high levels? Also, is DBT the same group that had the famous junk resin for beer trade and laptop for beer trade?
