How does DeGarde do it? Don't they have 1-2 bottle limits on the limited stuff, and much higher limits on everything else (like a case or something)? I know they had their own issues with mules/lack of limits, but now it seems like they have it figured out. I view them and Casey in a similar light in terms of location, accessibility, etc. So wonder if that is the model that Casey will follow. I could be way off on DeGarde limits, haven't paid too much attention to what is going on up there.

I dunno, de Garde is quite a bit closer to Portland than Casey is to Denver. Hell, on a bad snow day or busy ski weekend, Seattle might be closer to de Garde than Casey is to Denver.

This was my comment on that other site

I saw the post but how much could you lower the limits then they were? Below are the limits on Saturday. East Bank had a limit of 4 (highest bottle limit) but that was still available at the end and stores got allocations so no need to lower that. Maybe lower Cherry and Oak Theory to 2 bottles. If things are a limit of 1 bottle are less people going to drive up? Now any beers with lower limits will also be set aside for sale at the bar. So are more people going to get to buy the beer to go?

I just can't see how many more people would have got bottles if both things were implemented

East Bank (new blend) ($16) - 4 bottles per person
Cherry Fruit Stand - ($18) - 3 bottles per person
Peach Fruit Stand - ($18) - 1 bottle per person
Oak Theory - ($22) - 3 bottles per person
Dry Hopped Oak Theory - ($24) - 1 bottle per person
Advanced Oak Theory - ($24) - 2 bottles per person

I agree, thats what I was thinking too how much lower could they go, and lower only means people try and bring "more" people with them... If he's only gonna do one release a month he might have to sell tickets ahead of time to ensure everyone who comes out gets some beer... or something along those lines... It's only gonna get worse

Had the pleasure of trying Montmorency Cherry and Oak Theory last night.

How do I get MOAR east bank?!?! I think I was not generous enough trading my DDG, SdF and LPG for some of this last release!

I don't think there's a lot of mules going to Casey. I would think it's hard to convince someone who doesn't care about the beer to make the trip. I may be wrong.

I guarantee the neckbeards walking out of Casey with six cases of beer have zero intentions of drinking it all themselves.
Just so you know, on occasion Troy knows he's going to have extra Saison and East Bank so he lets a limited number of stores in Denver buy some cases but has stopped delivering so they have to go up during the release and purchase and pick up the beer. You'd also be surprised on how much Casey the neckbeards actually drink. I do trade some (give away more) but most of what I get is for my and my tasting groups consumption.

As a Neckbeard in Indiana I have consumed about 2 cases, I could not imagine living close.

Last night I picked up (thanks to a local friend who gave it to me) the only bottle (not counting magnums) I think I'm missing from everything that's Casey has released since opening. Planning ( at least that's the thought right now) on opening everything released from the first year at one big tasting.

So what does everyone think of advanced/dry hopped oak theory in relation to oak theory? I've only had regular oak theory at this point, so that's why I'm curious, but holy **** is it good. I can't wait to see what it's like when Troy starts releasing some of the cut with this as a base. That's going to be some good ****.

I think Oak Theory was the worst of the 3, but they're all super tasty. At the end of the day last release Troy brought out The Cut Blackberry and oh my god it was amazing. Super heavy in the diacetyl (which Troy warned us of and is likely why he's not committed to releasing it this month), but the fruit character was ridiculous. Can't wait for that and the cherry he just posted about! Really pumped for what's to come.

He's already said it's not being released this next time. Said Maybe May but probably June

It was, I added a few Indiana mouth melters to even up $ but based on what those three beers normally go for I thought it was more than fair.

Hey, I'm not trying to imply whether the trade is off or not, I suck at trade values and if both parties are happy that's all that matters. I'm just saying you got an insane amount of incredible beer for the 3 you gave up! Having had all beers in question (except AOT) I don't think I could even come close to giving up all those Casey beers. And SdF may be one of my favorite Saisons I've ever had.

Oh word. Thought he said maybe next release but probably the one after. It was pretty damn heavy in diacetyl so that makes sense. Looking forward to when they come out though! Just had Nocturn a couple days before and it blew that out of the water already.
