Anyone familiar with 3 gallon carboys?
Need to bottle this today...never used this carboy before and I'm trying to figure out how much I have here

Are you able to rack to a bottling bucket with the measured volumes on the side? If yes, do that and then add priming sugar and give a gentle stir. This is how I bottle, shouldn't have any issue. If you bottle from there sorry I can't help ya.

Make accurate markings on your bottling bucket by pouring in water at 1/2 or 1 gallon amounts. Mark and add another amount mark and repeat. It can sit in the bottling bucket for the time it takes to mix up a priming solution.

I had thought of doing that, but I normally put my priming solution in the bucket first to minimize how much I've got to stir it

If you measure the height and circumference of the liquid you can calculate its volume - I think a gallon is 34 cubic inches of liquid.

Well if you want to avoid stirring, though it won't hurt if you are gentle about it, you can just guesstimate the amount of beer you will transfer. That looks like about 2 gallons you can transfer if you leave the trub behind, since that is a 3 gallon carboy.

Looks like i ended up with bout 1.8ish gallons
