Have5 gallon glass carboy using #6.5 rubber bung with center hole the bung
does does not seem to seal tight

Without a better description, it's hard to advise, but if it isn't sealing, and is sticking up above the top lip of the carboy, you may need a six instead of a six and a half.

I've never had a problem with the orange caps in my 20 years of brewing. And i find the two holes a nice convenience. Sure it costs a couple bucks, but they work and work well.

Try the same stopper again after letting everything dry out. It may well fit properly. I had the same problem which resolved once things got dry.

I use the same thing - orange ones for my 5's and 6's, smaller red ones for my 6.5. One hole gets a thermowell and my temp probe, and the other hole gets a blowoff tube at first, then an airlock. I use them for my transfers too, the center one for my racking cane, and the side one for pushing CO2 through.
