How much corn sugar, white sugar, brown sugar, or honey would I need to carbonate just one 12 oz bottle of beer?

I have sugar and honey but I do not have carbonation drops. I prefer to use what I have to not have to run to the store every time I am out of an ingredient.

I would say grab a bag of carbonation drops and add them to the bottle for simplicity of one bottle. Just my opinion.

To-date I have only used white sugar per bottle (not in a bottling bucket). It's a little messy when you're running through 30-40 bottles, BUT it works for me and I'm sure the ants like it when I make a few mistakes.

Drops don't work well in my experience

I use 1/2 teaspoon of priming sugar per 12 oz bottle,

1 tsp in 22 oz bottles

I use a sanitized funnel to get sugar in bottle then pour beer over it. Cap it, then give a gentle swirl and store 10-14 days

Handy piece of information to know. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw a sugar cube, but the grocery store is a lot closer than the brew shop.

Be sure you get the "Dot". 198 cubes per pound. The larger standard cube will not fit the mouth of a standard bottle.

I almost went the cube route except I have sugar ... I always have sugar. So, that's clearly a lot easier albeit a little messy at times.

I do the same thing as @jalc6927 except I don't bother swirling.

I funnel all the bottles then thereafter fill them through the bottling bucket. I don't fill one at a time with the funnel; that would be too time consuming.

Just weighed one level teaspoon of regular table sugar at 4.0grams, I believe a good amount to carbonate a 12oz beer.

1tsp is often too much, in my experience. 1/2-3/4tsp is perfect.

Oh crap, you're absolutely right! I was thinking 22oz, not 12.

Let's see, I use 5oz sugar for 30x 22oz bottles, that would be 4.7 grams per 22oz bottle, or 2.6 per 12oz, at that rate. So yes 1/2-3/4tsp = 2 to 3 grams.
