Hey Guys,

I've made several batches of beer, and some alcoholic ginger beer/lemonade, but i'm having problems with carbonating the bottles.

I buy Coopers carbonation drops and use them correctly 1 tab per 500ML but when it comes to opening and tasting the brews they aren't carbonated very well.

Could anyone suggest perhaps a beer gun/CO2 force carbonator like a soda stream type thing? That would be perfect for what i'm making.

Thanks!

I hats those carbonation drops. No matter what style of beer, or how many you add, they just don't seem to do much of anything.

Personally, I use 2 teaspoons of white sugar for each 750ml bottle I have. I usually get a beautiful carbonation in just a few days. I've never had a problem with it "drying out" my beers. But I warn you, the carbon level can be quite high...almost like a soda. I found I like that, though.

Play around with it; different sugar amounts in your bottles. Just be sureties mark how much you used in which bottles. That way you can recreate the carbon level you like.

Can you provide more details? Where do the bottles sit when you've added the tablets and capped them? What beer did you recently bottle that isn't carbonated? How long since you bottled did you test it? Did you put it in the fridge? If so, for how long?
