I know there's quite a few posts out there about this subject, but I'm going to try to word it so I can elicit a yes or no response hopefully lol.

I have a two line setup in my kegerator, with enough room for just the two kegs and the CO2 bottle (5lb). I like this setup, I have no interest in trying to mod it, and I have no interest in trying to force carb, however I understand I need to top it off with a good shot of CO2 to purge the O2 and get a good seal on the lid.

I know the arguments about moving/sedimentation if I use corn sugar with the keg standalone, I'm fine with that. I'm just interested in having the keg carbed up at room temperature in a corner, ready to add in and be drinkable as soon as another keg empties in my kegerator. Is there any danger of this if I'm not going over 5oz of corn sugar per keg? Can I accomplish this without a spunding valve?

It'll work. Keg's can hold a ton of pressure so it isn't going to blow up on you or anything. I would still use a priming calculator so you don't end up with an over carbed beer, but a keg is basically a big, metal bottle. Spunding valve not required as long as you use a calculator.

I would seal the keg lid with a quick blast of CO2 to ensure it seats though. Otherwise your naturally created CO2 may just leak out of the lid.
