Hi guys. Long time lurker, first time posting. I'm looking to make a toffee apple cider. I have one in the fv already which I made using brown sugar and caramelised honey for the toffee flavours. Whilst away in Paris recently I got hold of some caramel tea bags. I understand that tea is a good addition to cider as it introduces tannins to the brew. If I was to do a gallon batch with apple juice. How many tea bags should I use for the caramel flavouring? Would I overdo the tannins if I put say 5 tea bags in? I have been brewing now for a couple of years but have only made beers so far so am unsure on the whole tannin thing. Many thanks in advance. Dan

In case anyone is interested, I added the tea bag. Didn't add much in the way of flavour. Did another batch which I added a caramel tea bag and chai tea bag to. Came out ok but not so much so that I would go out of my way to have them in stock for future brews
