cannot find dextrose for Apfelwine recipe

what should I do? I contacted the local homebrew store and they told me to just use regular sugar. They have never steered me wrong or gave me bad advice before, are they right this time?
 
the guy I talked to on tues night said they didn't carry it. He seemed to be knowledgeable about the different kinds of sugars. Thought I would post on here and ask before I make my first batch.
 
wow. I'd be really surprised that ANY LHBS wouldn't carry dextrose (aka, corn sugar, bottling sugar, etc.).

I haven't tried it, but I know people have used brown sugar in apfelwein.

It's already cidery enough, so I don't know the pro's/con's of table sugar.
 
I'm with AZ on this one...You may need to find a new LHBS. Dextrose is a very widely used ingredient. It's like not carrying yeast or hops. ;)
