Its for an Erdinger clone. My question is, will this turn out better than just using cans of HME and UME extract? I don't mind a little more work, and I'm trying to move on to a slightly more advanced stage than say the Mr.Beer route. What I'm trying say is with this recipe ( or any similar) have a better final product than using a couple of wheat beer extract cans? Some canned extracts ( Brewfirm) make it simple and quite good. If there isn't too much of a taste difference in those vs. the following it may not be worth it. Thoughts and advice greatly appreciated.

Using hops in an extract recipe will give you better results than using pre-hopped extract. It's unlikely a pre-hopped extract would use a hop like Spalter.
