I was thinking about getting started on my keezer build as I have a brass beer faucet with 6 taps. The only problem is where I planned on putting the keezer in my hom was a little to small for the size freezer I need for 6 kegs and the CO2.

Is it possible to build my own custom box from lumber and 2" pink foam then use a mini frdige compressor inside to cool it and then finish the outside to look like a bar? I even thought about using kitchen cabinets and then insulating it. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks

Should be possible.. not much different than a fermentation chamber. I would look at the ideas people have done for that on here and try going from there.

Can you buid it?

i did, can you?

mine is exactly as you describe, except i didnt (yet) take the time to finish it and make it look pretty. and mine uses an air conditioner for power, but same exact idea. definately possible. actually that rigid foam insulation is one of the easiest materials to work with.

Do you have pictures you could post of how you are using the AC unit? Is that more efficent than a fridge power unit?

I really like the idea of just using current litchen cabinets and countertop with the insulation and the hardware to pull of the counter type keezer.

I also did this... see here

so far so good I did update this by removing the dorm fridge thermostat and putting in one of the ebay controllers, that let me put a light bulb in there in the winter since it is out in my shop that isnt heated most of the winter.

Seal everything very well, and i think the lid/door seal should be outside the insulation. i ended up getting condensation between the insulation and the liner on the lid and had to add another seal to get it to quit.

Thanks for the reply's!

So my idea of doing a non freezer keezer has been growing. Where I would like to have it is in the corner of dining room and I would love to use the 6 tap brass beer tower I scored on craigslist for $25. My thought is to insulate the floor and two corner walls with pink foam and then make a wall/door going across the front from one wall to the other forming a triangle. Then adding acounter top with insulation foam under the top with the beer tower on top. To cool I"m thinking of running a insulated pvc pipe with a fan from from a mini fridge on shelf in the basement up through the floor and into the keezer. So the fan would be pulling air from the mini fridge to the keezer and I would also run my CO2 through the floor from the basement.

Any objections?

Thanks for all the input! After doing some research I decided do a "Trunkline" keezer build where I'll run the beverage lines and cooling line from the basement to my Draft Tower. Here is rough scetch of what I'm hoping to accomplish. Thanks
