I have a wine kit I starter 7 days ago that started at 1.080 and is now at 1.018. it is in the primary bucket.

Instructions say that between 5 to 7 days it should be at 1.010 and to transfer it to the Carboy. It is still active as 12 hours ago it was 1.020.

I would like to use my bucket today to start another batch. Would you say it's safe to transfer now to the Carboy?

I know you're anxious to start another batch but it might be best for the wine if you let it finish fermenting out before xfer'ing.

To answer your question though: yes, I'd say it's probably safe to xfer now but you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain by waiting another 3-5 days ;)

Yikes...I just transferred it about 2 hours ago.

I was worried it would stop the fermentation but it's bubbling away at about one "burp" per 2 seconds.

My temp is a little low though, about 71.
