Long story short: brewed a few times in 2010. Girlfriend bought me a kit. Moved cities, haven't brewed since. Brewed up a Brewer's Best American Cream Ale kit last Friday before I started reading these forums.
What options do I have? Will adding corn sugar help? Can I pick up a couple packets of dry yeast and throw those in?
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
- Yeast was one dry packet of Nottingham ale yeast
- Pitched the yeast at 74 degrees
- I didn't use a yeast starter
- The yeast was at least 18 months old (but just within its "brew by date")
- I haven't taken an additional SG reading, but airlock activity has been low
- Has been fermenting for a week at a steady 66 degrees
- Very little sediment at the bottom of the carboy (photo taken today: https://twitter.com/theSlex/status/314949579399385088/photo/1 )
