Hey guys,

I recently bought the Insignia kegerator that was on sale on Black Friday. It's a single tap 2.5" tower and I want to switch it to a double tap. It looks like all of the towers I can buy are 3". I attached a picture of how the current tower connects. It twists and locks into place. The holes for the screws are NOT used for anything.

So my questions is...if I get this tower: http://www.micromatic.com/3-inch-co...s-polished-stainless-steel-air-cooled-d4743dt, will it fit on my kegerator?

Thanks!

Watching. I'm in the same boat.

I ordered a Kegco dual tap 3" tower from Amazon and it will be here tomorrow. I'll let you know how it matches up to the holes.

How far apart are the bolt holes?

They're 2.7" apart. I went to the local HBS and looked at their 3" tower. The holes look like they match up, but I wont know for sure until my new one comes in tomorrow.

I did this to my igloo kegerator. It had the twist lock for the 2 1/2" and I ended up drilling holes for the 3" tower. I bet those holes line up with the 4 mounting holes in a 3 inch tower. I went with the beverage factory tower with dual perlicks for the same price. I love the perlicks.

DAMN!! I wish I saw this before I ordered this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0048CDUBC/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

Well...Amazon does have an amazing return policy and this tower is the same brand as the one you listed...maybe I can use it to make sure the holes line up and then return it? Would you say that the $60 more for the perlicks is worth it?

I would say yes. The big 2 advantages of the perlicks are that they don't stick. My old chrome plated faucets would stick pretty bad if I didn't drink a beer for 3 days. If I went away for a week of vacation I was afraid I was going to break something. The perlicks never stick. Plus you can completely disassemble them and replace the gaskets if needed. I'm a fan!

I'm guessing the manufacturer of that kegerator sells a version that has a 3 inch tower for a 2 or 3 tap.

So the new tower I bought attached directly to the kegerator! The holes were perfectly aligned

cpham574 - what model of Insignia is this for? I am looking to confirm whether the NS-BK2TSS6 model will hold 3 ball lock kegs...
