Can I add water

I'm going to try and make plain old apple cider using store brought apple juice in a carton. I'm going to make a 23 litre batch of cider.
Do I have to use 23 litres of apple juice or can I add water ie 15 litres of pure apple juice and 8 litres of water. I brought a cider kit that only had 5 litres of juice that I added 17 litres of water too this is why I ask is it ok to add water.
Any help will be great thank you

No, you don't add water.

A kit is different because it includes concentrated juice.
