Who can notice the class I am taking to stay sane?

Here is the description of the class!

nice! what is that class about exactly? Back when I was in college, we had a liquid hospitality course (bar tendering), but I don't think it had much to do with the science of it. I didn't take it...

Wow, what college offers "Intro to Human Geography"?? And what the heck is it.

Brewing science looks cool too. Is that Virginia Tech?

GEOG-1014 World Regions - Learn about grains and ingredients from different areas of the world. NICE CHOICE!!!

Yup, I am at virginia tech. Just bailed out of engineering...long story. But geography has always been a passion of mine and it will actually take fewer credit hours to complete then engineering if I had stayed in it.

Here is the course description:

Wow, what college offers "Intro to Human Geography"?? And what the heck is it.

Description:

Introduction to geography as a social science. Development of a conceptual framework for studying and evaluating human-environment relationships. Examination of selected regional and global issues in terms of human and physical attributes of place. I,II

I see it's on Fridays no less...How cool. And runs past 5....so for the last 20 minutes does the prof open up the taps???? And then you head out to the nearest pub after, right...for a little more "studying?"

He encourages the "Responsible consumption of beer/cider during class period". From other members on this site I have heard that professor O'Keefe is an awesome guy!

Does that mean you can bring in your homebrews for "show and tell?" ;)

Haha I hope so! I believe he helped develop a homebrew recipe that is pretty famous in this region.

Too bad my pipe line was dried up by holidays and my decision to brew 2 high gravity beers in a row!

Wait - does this mean you can now - for this semester at least - buy all the Home Brew supplies you want and write them off your taxes as " educational expenses" ?
I think I need to look into a "distance education " program .....

That would be great! I went and looked to see if NC State had a similar course. Couldn't find one but am hopeful that they will add one sometime in the future. I kinda like the idea of going back to school now even if it was only for one class. Sadly I was teaching a course at a local junior college a couple years ago. Ha!

So now we know where to find you at any given time next semester?

Just kidding! I wish I had a brew class available when I was in college!

Three years of effing up in engineering are enough that I won't ever be cutting class again. Skipping class contributed to a deep cycle of depression that I am now recovered from and THAT is something I never want to experience again!
