after planning out my small (volume) imperial stout test batch, I realized that instead of just doing a no-sparge and dumping the grain (or using it for bread), I should just do a partigyle and sparge for a 2nd (still small volume) beer.
now, according to randy moshers partigyle table: here,
if im doing a 1/3, 2/3 split batch, I need a 1070 OG to end up with first runnings at 1105, and second runnings at 1052.
is this preboil or postboil?
if its postboil (which Im leaning towards), how would one back calculate to figure out what preboil needs to be (and adjust recipe accordingly)?
any help would be greatly appreciated, especially if im waaaayyy offfff.
thanks all.
