Buying used perlicks question

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on adding a collar and taps to my chest freezer. I currently use picnic taps.

I have 8 taps so buying used would make my pockets happier.

When buying used 525ss how concerned should one be about getting a batch of leaky faucets? I know some people had problems with them leaking and many people didn't.

If you don't over or under tighten the bonnets you should be fine. Don't torque then down with a wrench, the o rings will deform and the bonnet will leak.

I have a 545 flow control that works perfect.Will be coming on the market soon.With tower so it wont help you but they seem last.Aside from a .25 cent o ring I don't see what could ever go wrong

I have a bunch of the 525's; two of them leaked, but swap the o-rings out with a new set from ontariobeerkegs or elsewhere and all set.

What's a good price for a good condition 525ss? $25 each sound about right? I found a few at that price.
