I've thouht about making a Keezer, but I want something that looks nice inside. And honestly I'm not very handy. I'm still considering it, I've been looking at all the pimp my kegerator threads on this site. Certainly inpsiring, just not sure if I could pull of the wood work.

a kegerator doesn't really require any woodwork. the keezer, built using a chest freezer, is what you're thinking about with the wood collar. all you have to do to make a kegerator is drill a hole in the top and mount a tower. i'm hoping to start kegging pretty soon and making a kegerator, which is much cheaper than buying one of the commercial examples.

Yes you are correct, however, I am wanting to do a tower set up. Also, per SWMBO it needs to look nice. So we were thinking about trying to make a keezer with a nice bar top and then encasing the freezer with wood, but I'm not sure if we have the skill if that makes sense.

First off, how many taps do you want? If you want 2 or less, then I would buy a Sanyo mini fridge and modify it. That's what I did, and I couldn't be happier. I upgraded the taps and it looks/works great. If you want more than 2 taps, then you'll have to go the keezar route. Don't wory about "being handy," as it's really easy to modify these things.

I actually only plan on having two taps. For my needs I don't think I need more. I'm reading the Frigidaire conversion now....not as bad of an option as I originally thought.

Where did you find your Sanyo to convert? Also, can you mount a tower? I really like the tower option.

Dude much better than I thought it would be....Thanks for the link, I'll def. build this soon. I hope I don't hit the coolent lines, I want a tower mount.

Your welcome. I am not too handy either but this converstion seems really simple so i think even i can do this one.

Good luck with it.

If you feed the SWMBO enough beer eventually any setup will start to look nice.... lol.

Ha ha very true. I've talked her into, we are are going to Lowes to check out the Mini-Frigidair tomorrow :)

Im actually going To convert that frigidaire mini....quick question for anyone that can help. How sensitive are the coolent lines? If I'm carefully carving through insulation to find them with a spoon and maybe a knife if I hit them are they nooked or only if I hit them with the drill?
