hey HBT! got a slightly dumb one for you :ban:. i just received my order of 3 1.5 TC pull style butterfly valves. They have 3 positions on the lock - closed, open, and I believe 30%. all of the handles are orientated to the LEFT when closed - meaning i pull from left to right to open when the valve is on my kettle.

I am not in front of my tools to disassemble the valve and i didn't find anything on a quick search: But my question is can these be reassembled, turning the handle orientation 180 degrees? I would like that when my valve is closed, the handle is orientated to the right - meaning i want to pull from right to left to open the valve.

If I'm understanding correctly, just rotate the valve. The only difference is when the valve is opened, the handle is either in the up inline position or the down inline position.

You have something like this with the port position and using a TC connection?

i would like my valves orientated like the spike kettle valve you posted. my valves currently have the handle on the opposite side when closed

I guess I do not understand why rotating and flipping does not work since there is a TC connection on each side of the valve....

the pull trigger valves do not rotate 180, from closed to fully open to closed. my pull valves have a 90 degree operation range - closed, 30%, open and then back the same way to close. if i flip to the backside TC like suggested, the handle will face into the kettle when opened.

i want to flip the valve like you suggested, but i want to install the handle backward to accomplish the right to left pull open.

Can you rotate the handle 180deg around like the hands of a clock face move so it is on the bottom? That would have it on the left and opening away from your kettle.

Can you flip the metal part with the locking holes 90 degrees and the handle closing mechanism 180 degrees?

i tried - i managed to take the whole handle top off(assembly and all - leaving just the actual paddle post) - at which i fit the assembly on backward. pretty much same orientation. as of right now i have two ports to the right of the main pickup port - both of these valves i have orientated upside down to facilitate a right handed pull valve (meaning the actual handle is underneath the valve). the main port i have left the valve orientated right side up keeping it a left handed pull valve. the more i look, the more i realize i will not be able to clear my right two valves if i were to have a right handed pull valve in the main drain port. the handle contacts the bottom whirlpool port valve. i am not able to actually operate(pull) the handle if it were a right handed pull valve.

I don't think there is a dedicated in or out side of the valve. Just undo your clamp and clamp the other side of the valve to your kettle. Maybe a picture would help

you are correct there is no dedicated in and out flow. however, the top handle is cut for an operating radius of 90 degrees and that is it. flipping the valve will have it open toward my kettle wall, which i cannot open the valve. installing the handle backward offers the same orientations as flipping the valve. I would need to get a new enclosure for the valve handle that has the radius cut on the OPPOSITE side that mine is.

Looking at it like a clock with 12 at the kettle wall, the handle can only operate from 6 to 9. flipping it will give me 3 to 12 and open toward the kettle wall (impossible) - only way i see is to get right hand valve specifically if made OR have a new operating enclosure for the valve installed(probably impossible!) flipping the open radius side.
