In my last post it became evident that a 10G MLT was required at minimum.
Now my question is regarding shape, is round preferred over rectangular?

Are there posts with what are considered best designs out there, most all I have seen are round, and one or two square?

First question is are you batch sparging or fly sparging? If batch, there is no difference between square and round. If fly sparging, I believe you want to go with the round shape due to flow of sparge water through the grain bed. I've got a round cooler and haven't really investigated the square or rectangular shapes.

WE used to use the 10 gallon igloo type coolers and they hold the temp for Mash very well. After a while, they do get heavy and warped, but they lasted years.
