Welcome to Home Brew Talk! :mug:
Have you tried any of your beers yet? If so what did you think?

i made the beligan witbeir kit from nt and my first taste, about a month after bottling was very good taste, not very full body. however, as that was my first batch, i soon learned as time passed the beer get significantly better as time passed an the body became much better as well. i still have about 18 of them left and i'm trying not to touch them so i can see how they are a 6 months.

the second batch i made was a california common kit again from nt. its good but not great to me and that has more to do with the style of beer than how well i made it. it's much better than a labatt or molson or bud, but i'm a dark beer man so you can see where i'm left thirsting for more.

i'm set to brew my first custom recipe tomorrow, it will be a cherry ale and i'm going this route because a good friend of mine family owns a fruit farm and he gave me 15+ lbs of cherries, so i figured why not make beer with them, i can't eat them all.

Hey! Welcome to the board. I'm very much new to brewing myself as well and from Buffalo too. Lots of good info here.

Would you recommend that California Common kit from NT? I was thinking about getting it but maybe i'll try something else if it isn't that great.

it all depends what flavor of beer you like, not me. the california common is pretty much a standard american ale and a very good one at that. i would definitely recommend it as it is very good.

what i was attempting to say and perhaps i said this poorly, was that i prefer dark beers to any other beers, including california common. most friends and family of mine don't like dark beers so i made the california common as something i could share with them, if it were me alone drinking, i would have made a porter.

short answer ... the california common from nt is very good.

buffalo brewer checking in...uh, you brew buffalo's?

Moe: Oh, boy! The deep fryer's here. Heh heh, I got it used from the navy. You can flash-fry a buffalo in forty seconds.

Homer: Forty seconds? But I want it now!

Mmmm...brewed buffalo....
