Why am I getting so much of these little bubbles in my tubing when Im racking. I get so much when racking wort to fermentor and get them when going to secondary and to bottling bucket. I have older tubing with about 100 gallons ran through it, would that matter? I also usually put grain bag on the want to help filter, would this matter? Seems to be the worse when racking wort to primary when all graining.

what kind of racking cane is it? an auto siphon? could be a bad seal between the tubing and the cane
or what happenee to me was my autosiphon seal got too old and started leaking, mostly cause i would never disassemble it after use.

From the pic that looks like a transfer from primary to secondary. There is a lot of co2 in solution in the primary. When that beer is exposed to a lower pressure in the tubing to transfer to another vessel the co2 will come out of solution. Same as opening a bottle. Lower the pressure, release the co2.

I would test the racking cane with water. If the bubbles still appear replace the tubing. The tubing may be getting stiff and not making a good seal to the cane. It is also possible restricting the flow with the clamp is drawing air up into your tubing from the out flow end. Do you get the bubbles both with the clamp and without the clamp?

When I use a filter bag to catch some stray dry hop debris it is on the outflow end of the tubing inside the bottling bucket. The bag is only one inch in diameter and six inches long. I wouldn't worry about a little debris going into the secondary when you feel it is necessary to use one.

I go with the connection at the cane and hose first, then next a crack in the cane, I went over to SS years ago and have had little problem since

the bubbles can be a pain to find the source as a small crack or hole can be the problem
