I am wondering if anyone has noticed that BeerSmith will give a different estimated mash ph vs Brun Water? The last batch we did Brun Water calculated a ph of 5.4 whereas Beersmith came up with 5.61.

Of course, lots of folks have noticed that.
And if I had to guess, 90-something percent of folks rely on Bru'n Water.
Probably should be 100%.

There are a few functions/features in BS2 that are safely ignored...

Cheers!

They use slightly different models for calculating pH. Run them side by side for a couple of brews and pick the one that best matches your results.

Yes my ph meter consistently shows Bru'n Water to be the right choice. BeerSmith should either fix it or remove it.
