Just pitched the yeast onto a 4th of July brew! Felt a real kinship with the founders of America in that soon I'll be enjoying yet another batch of tax-free, home-made, individual and unique brew. They fought for our rights to be our own people and we should be thankful for the little things that affirm that everyday.

And to all the Canadians that participate on this forum, I couldn't think of a nicer bunch of people to have as our neighbors! Cheers, Everybody and Happy Independence Day!!!

I feel the same way,so I made something they did since colonial times, whiskely. I made mine out of a dark ale with bourbon soaked oak chips. It's been in the bottles about a week now.
And,as a salute to our time,I brewed my 1st IPA yesterday. The blow off is chugging pretty hard right now. It's pleasantly distracting, since my brew stand is to my right.:ban::rockin:

Hope everyone had a great 4th.... As a tribute to our founding fathers, I kegged an American IPA..... That despite American yeast (wyeast headwaters ale), tastes more like one of his cousins across the pond. Made me wonder, if the British had more guys named Fuggle and Golding, would the outcome have been the same 120-some years ago? :ban:
Really though, a Happy belated 4th to all my fellow brewers!!! :mug:
