It is going to be awesome.

I used a ton of steeping grains, and it already looks like I added 4 lbs of malt extract...

I have like 10 lbs of lme to add. I have 4 oz of hops, and 2 of them are Chinook (12%), and one is yakima perle (7.6 %) It's gonna be CRISP!! I don't think Ill add any finishing hops or dry hop, and I am not the biggest fan of hop flavor (but I do like the bitterness).

I am also using 3/4 cup of organic brown sugar right at the end of my boil. I am shooting for an OG of 1.080 or so!!! Hopefully my yeast doesn't die (Whitelabs California Ale yeast).

so long to all the girlie beers I have sitting around in my closet!

hehehe!

actually I had 12.5 lb's of LME :D

it's def going to be a man's beer.

I put only 1.66 oz of the CHinook for bittering, and the whole oz of yakima Perle with 12 minutes or so left in the boil.

Wort is cooling now. I will have to add water until it gets close to 1.090 or so, or I am afraid my yeast will die. :(

looks like ot will be a little darker than expected. not sure how they get away with calling this stuff "pale ale."

oh, and I used a whole cup of sugar at the end of my boil.

it's gonna border on barleywine :D

OG was actually 1.076 or so not 1.080 like I was thinking.

oh well. still pretty high. the fermentation just started and is going great. I am starting to get some respect for Whitelabs yeast.

the beer is pretty dark... I am not sure how people get away with calling it a "pale" ale :D

man, I'm posting up a storm in my own thread.

I guess no-one esle cares :(
