Any crazy stories like brewing a batch and then discovering a fly or something got into a batch or bottle at bottling time? Just was thinking about it while bottling the other day.

I had a cat fall into a batch of porter shortly after boil, does that count? ironically her name is Brewer.

FYI, the beer had cooled and the cat is fine. I dumped it, i was not okay with raw cat ass making contact with wort. Maybe it could have been a ground breaking sour?

Had a doozy this week.

Was adding Kmeta to a batch in secondary the other day. Dissolved the powder into hot water and was stirring with a butter knife. Went to pour the solution into the cider and kept the knife in the jar, held by my finger against the wall of the glass. Worked well until ~45 degrees, knife slipped out and went right to the bottom.

Whoops

. . . still fine though. Stainless is a beautiful product.

my first AG batch was an imperial pilsner. i was apprenticing at my local micro and managed to get a growler of Genny lager yeast which was out house lager strain. I stupidly gave the growler a shake before pitching and guess what happened?
