The recipie I have is different to a different Ale I made and just want to make sure it is right.
It says:

Dissolve contents of can and fermentable sugars wit 2 litres of boiling water
Top up with cold water to 20ltrs
Top up to 23ltrs with hot or cold water (to get it to 21degrees) then ad yeast, does this mean I do it all in one stage? Or is there a waiting period between stages? As the instructions don't say, I know my previous Ale had a break in stages between adding parts I think it was about a week between the top up to 23 ltrs. Hs anyone done a coopers paleale before who can advise me?

Thanks in advance

D

That's Cooper's instructions. I used them on my first brew & pitched'em after that. I didn't enjoy pouring boiling hot liquids into my Cooper's micro brew FV.
Anyway, what they mean is,mix the kit into 2L of boiling water (off the heat!!) in the fermenter, then top up to 20L with very cold (preferably chilled in fridge a couple days) water. Then use warm &/or cold water to get the right pitch temp @ 23L. 21C is about 70F,but I prefer 18C,which is 64.4F.
pour wort & top off water from as high up as you can to aerate if you don't have a dual layer fine mesh strainer. Mix wort & top off water well. I use a 24" plastic paddle & stir roughly 5 minutes to mix well & aerate more.
Take hydrometer sample for OG test, pitch yeast & seal'er up.

Dude you should write Coopers instructions lol that's so much easier to understand, thank you.

I thought all Coppers kits were pre hopped so never boil them.

In Cooper's instructions,or my American dialect of theirs, you are not boiling them at all. you are adding them to boiling water. Sorry it took awhile to get back to this, but took a break during slow time of day to watch 2013 Hot Rod Power Tour & Cacklefest! Fuelers always sound like Rice Krispies on steroids to me.
And yeah, some instructions could be ordered better & certainly clearer. Not to mention give times in real world number of days it really takes for it to be done & ready properly.
