I noticed there aren't many of us.

Started brewing last year after getting a brew kit for Christmas. I Made one batch and stopped until about a week ago. Started up again with my little brother who just turned 21. I needed a hobby and he needed something else to distract him from schoolwork.

Our first batch was a cranberry wheat, which is being moved to secondary today. Yesterday we brewed an oatmeal stout.

We tasted the cranberry wheat last night too. A bit too fruity for my tastes, but really good nonetheless. I was pleasantly surprised after the (literally) explosive fermentation it had.

Love the boards. Its nice to have something to look at when i'm "working." And i'm sure i could use some insight into this crazy hobby.

Welcome from the western reaches of the state!

I've been brewing for about nine months or so now, it too was out of a need for a hobby. As I've quickly learned, it's more of an obsession than a hobby at this point. Lots of good insight around here, lots of people who know what they're talking about a lot more than I.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums. If you like great beer (and all of us do) then this is the hobby to take up. I got my brew kit last Christmas and been doing it ever since.

Welcome to the forum. :mug:
There are a few women here and I for one appreciate all of your participation. WE (Men) can get a bit crass and maybe a bit sexist but for the most part the beer conversation is very good and interesting.
Maybe you women can gang up on the men and get even.:mug:

Rule 1: There's lots of ways to make great beer.
Rule 2: If you think there is only one way to do something, see Rule 1.
Rule 3: Relax and have a homebrew, see Rule 1.
