So I was at my favorite Microbrewery/Restaurant after work enjoying a few of the new offerings and was sampling a Summer Wheat and starting asking questions of it to the bartender who didnt really have all the answers, so she went and got the brewer. I asked plenty of questions of which he was really surprised at, saying not to many people come in here asking or wondering about ingredients, hops, boiling times, etc etc. I told him I was a home brewer and it has been my passion for the last 2 years, he told me besides his duties here at the brewery he also was a homebrewer(go figure)...Long story short, he asked me if on thursdays and fridays I didnt have anything to do after work that he could really use a apprentice to help out for 4-5 hours. Well I couldnt pass up the offer and said I would be there tomorrow after work, and every thursday and friday there after. Now I dont know that this will lead to anything but just the experience and knowledge I will receive will be well worth every minute I spend there. I spent about an hour with him in the brewery area and was like a kid in a candy store.

Sounds awesome man!! It should be a great learning experience. Is he going to pay you, and if so in cash or beer?

I would take the beer.... and any old equipment that needs replacing!

That's pretty damn cool, I'd jump at an opportunity like that too...

Curiosity...what's the name of the brewery?

That is totally cool especially if it is that place on Buffalo Road. I am sure you will learn a lot. Cheers

that sounds like an awesome gig. You said you werent sure if it will lead to anything else but most likely it will. Youll start meeting a lot of other great brewers in the business and start building your skills. Enough to start doing it for a living if you want.

I have to agree. Def jump on a chance like that! For the increased experience,if nothing else. Maybe learn some new process. Some ideas he uses that you never thought of,or understood.:mug::rockin:
