I was aiming for the ~10% version they first made that was by far the best IMHO. I was hoping to get 11 gallons, however seeing I had not yet tested the limits of my setup I knew I would hit some snags. First off here is my recipe.

So the first snag I expected and experienced was not having enough room for the wet grain. About my setup. I brew 11 gallon batches typically. I have one large square 52l cooler that I mash in. This is easier to stir and fit all of the grain. I maxed this cooler so I knew that the next step would be tricky. My lautering setup is a 10 gallon orange Home Depot cooler that I fly sparge with. Just so you know, I did not go into this not expecting this issue. But with a large mesh bag I was able to sparge all of the grain. This was obviously not efficient enough because my gravity pre-boil was low. So I extended my boil and compromised my total gallons to get my gravity. Hopefully it turns out okay. I honestly think that the majority of the lost wort was soaked in the hops. I will definately be building another lautering cooler setup to avoid this in the future.
