I am a new BCS460 user. I like the idea of being able to check on the process from my phone. The reviews on the app store are not promising. What is the general opinion here? Is it worth paying the INSANE price of $14.99?

I don't know anything about this application, but that sounds like an expensive solution to me.
The more remote your view of the BCS-460 is, the more possible time lag you have between something going wrong and your reaction to it becomes. I have my BCS wired directly to my network and the computer in the brewery is also wired. I do use a wireless connection so that I can see the BCS from my Nexus 7, but if something needs immediate attention I don't want to rely on wireless if I can avoid it. Same thing would apply to needing an external service for interconnection.
