Boy I found out the hard way not to buy a cheap brew pot,,It burned my extract when I added it ,,very slow and I removed it from heat. I am thinking about buying one with a thicker bottom. Any thoughts?
Yes,,stiring the whole time,,a 16 quart pot, I warmed the extract but wounder if the thin bottom caused the problem? or was the extract to warm and thined and burnt because of that?
I don't see what the thicker bottom would hurt. I suppose the thin bottom could be the culprit. Although, I don't know squat about the thermodynamics of a pot either. I wonder if maybe your pot is too short and squatty?
I have two pots, well, three if you count the one I just bought. My main pot is an aluminum pot that I just can not ruin for the life of me. It's a turkey fryer pot. The other is a cheap stainless steel pot from my HBS. I haven't burned any extract when adding it to either pot.
