Brew Day.

Howdy all.

Today was my second brew day since I started back up brewing.

My brew buddy came over and we brewed an ESB.
We also took the time today to crack open the first bottle of our First Brew.

The ESB came out a little darker than I thought but the APA was better than I expected since it was only bottled a week ago.

Here is the ESB in the hydro. tube:

This is the APA in the glass for the first time. It's a little cloudy but the taste is quite good already. The head is quite nice but the beer is still not properly carbonated. I'm sure it will be great in a couple weeks. My brew buddy has never had drinkable homebrew so he's thrilled.

Good brew! The ESB looks a little dark like you said, but it's not a problem though. The APA looks more like the caramel colored stuff that I am used to. I like the look of #2 better, although I always seem to prefer my current batch better than the last one.

The color is a little more accurate on the ESB too. I had to wait until everyone was in bed before I took the pictures. SWMBO would have thought I really went off the track if she caught me taking pictures of beer. I need to break her in slowly on my obsession.

Should have went for it and shocked her. The glazed look in her eyes
would only last a few days and then anything you do wouldn't be such
a surprise.

Nah, she already gets on me about taking more pictures of the fish I breed than the child she bore!

As for sniffing the airlock at night. It's in my son's bathroom. If she only knew that I got up at 2AM when I heard the heater go on to run downstairs to close the heater vent and open the window in the bathroom I'd probably have gotten the

I have a Pliny the Elder Kit from B3 to brew today or tomorrow too.
