Hey guys,

I currently have 2 separate propane rigs but have recently been contacted by a local restaurant who would like to purchase a brewpub license and have me brew for them. The only space available is in the basement, which means I have to use electric.

We could easily run a 220 outlet down there, as well as various 110's, so my question is how large of a brew can be done with electric elements? I'm hoping at the very least, 10 gallon batches, possibly all the way up to 62 gallon or 2bbl batches.

I don't really know what to look for as far as elements go, can anyone point me in the right direction? In the meantime I'll be researching all the threads in this forum to try and figure something out.

ziggy13,

There is more than one way to skin that cat. Decide what you want to do and then go from there. I've drawn diagrams for brew setups that will handle 5, 10, 20 & 50 gallon batches.

Here is just one example of a diagram for a brew rig using a 30 or 40 gallon kettle.

Click on the image to see a full scale diagram printable on Tabloid paper (11" x 17").

Let me know and I'll try to help you.
