Braggot Taste?

I've never had braggot and was wondering before I spend the money to purchase the honey, malt, etc. What does it taste like?

Have you had mead before? Well, sounds like a smart-ass response, but it tastes like mead+beer.

If you haven't had mead, the best approximation I can think of is a barleywine but with some light honey flavor (after aging).

If you've had a honey ale, you may get the idea. There are some commercial braggots out there and it you try one, that may help you decide.

Yeah I've mead before. I kinda figured that what it tasted like but just wanted to double check. I think I'm going to go ahead with brewing up a batch.
