Hi, I have been spoiled and have never had to bottle, I have had a keg from day 1

I have some people that want to try my beer that are out of town, so I got four 600mL bottles (Beau's) that I was planning on using to give them a taste of my next beer. I have read that for a 12 oz bottle you need roughly 1/2 teaspoon, give or take. I was planning on using some dextrose, dissolving it in boiling water, and then when I bottle using a syringe to inject the equivalent to 1 full teaspoon of dextrose into each 600 mL bottle. Does this sound ok?

I tried that and it didn't work very well unfortunately, plus I would like to try my hand at bottling anyways.
