I bottled my 2nd batch today and had two screwups. After siphoning into the bottling bucket (which was on the floor), someone (could have been me or my better half but probably me), bumped the spigot, turning it partially on. I didn't notice until my wife screamed, by which time there was probably 2 or 3 bottles worth on the floor. If that wasn't bad enough, while bottling, the tube came off the filler, resulting in another spill. Consequently, I only got 46 bottles instead of the 50+ I was expecting. And now the kitchen "reeks" of beer which I won't hear the end of for hours (if I'm lucky)

I shoulda just watched some football today. :D

I think most of us have probably had mishaps like that. Don't fret too much and make sure that floor isn't sticky. Time to get on to the next batch and learn from the those small mistakes. :mug:

But the cool part is by the time you actually get to crack your first beer, you will have forgotten all about this ugly mishap. :) I know I did!

You're the 57000 person that has asked, this and noone has seemed to actually post back on how they worked or not...

Thing is they are clear...not really a good idea for beer.

Use it for apfelwein instead.

They are similar to the Grolsch swing tops we can buy here, i am led to believe they work well and you can buy the replacement rubber seals at the LHBS down under.
Buy a couple and try them....but brown would be better

This is why my dog is always close by; she loves cleaning up any spills.
