:ban I've been doing research lately on the cheapest way to bottle some home brew for my camping trip. I looked at growlers and even flip top bottles but with the price and shipping. I wanted so see what I could find locally. At wally world I found stainless steel water bottles and stainless steel thermoses. Any one have any experience bottling in either one...:rockin::rockin::rockin:

The other day I bottled a few of mine from a keg into poland spring water bottles. They swelled a little bit with the pressure, but seem to be holding up fine so far. But it's only been a few days so I'm not sure how long they'll last or really how suitable they are for beer storage, since beer is quite different than water.

Maybe others can speak to the safeness of this, but for like $4 a case, that's pretty cheap.

I've had good luck using empty 1l and 2l soda bottles. I especially like empty 1l club soda bottles, since they're a convienent size, usually cheap, and tougher than glass bottles.

P.S. I am shuked.

I know many people use plastic pop bottles. As long as you keep them out of the light they should be fine. Maybe some oxidation over a period of time, but it might not be much.

i've heard of people using those metal water bottles. they seem to like them. there are some threads at the bottom of this page that discuss them, in fact.

Just checked the thread I think I'll give it a shot. I might try the 2L pop bottle route as well.
