Bottling from growler...

So, I am going to transfer 1/2 gallon of beer to 2 1 liter flip tops. I think that my autosiphon will be a bit overkill.. so could i just slowly pour it into the bottles at an angle?

what do you think the best way to do this is?

when i bottled a 1 gallon test batch I took about two feet of tubing stuck my bottle filler on it. Then push the valve with your finger and shove the tubing into the bottle, let go of the valve and pull the tubing out. Boom, you got siphon.

I bought one of the small autosiphons for that kind of occasion. I use it to rack small 1gal and .5gal experimental batches.

If you pour it, no matter how careful you are, it will get oxidized. Unless you were gonna drink it within a couple of hours, do not pour to bottle. siphon carefully.

I'd have to say that additionally, I wouldn't plan on any long term aging of beer poured this way. They didn't pour that beer in to a growler filled with C02 and you'll likely not be purging those bottles. The beer is going through a lot of places where there will be oxygen.
