I made a black IPA which tasted great prior to bottling, once I bottled, I get a nasty chemical taste. I hadn't brewed beer in over two years and I think I figured out where my problem happened. If anyone can verify, I'd appreciate it. I cleaned my new bottles with 5 star PBW, let them sit in the hot water solution for roughly 5 minutes, immediately put them into my hot water with my star san and bottled. Is the PBW giving me my chemical taste?

PBW could be your problem, definitely a rinse-necessary solution. Rinse and rinse again until you no longer feel a slickness on the bottle or in the rinse water... then rinse again and you're good to go

I figured that's where I went wrong. Will I get sick if I drink it? It's hard to pour it down the drain ha!

On a side note, the beer has a ton of head. I do a slow pour into a glass and half of it is carbonated. Why would that be?
