I bottled my Oiseaux Rouge Saison today and it felt really good. That's what the hobby does for you.....simple pleasures for simple me. WLP565 took it from 1.061 to 1.002 and left a half inch firm cake which was absolutely undisturbed by the siphon. It tastes amazing and I will wait none to patiently for it to carb up on the 4 oz. dextrose prescribed by BeerSmith and cold condition a little. I used the new Belgian cappable bottles I got from NB (in the foreground of the pic you can see the caps) for part of the batch and had a good day. Clean-up about done, yeast washed and beer stored, and as a bonus I nabbed two full 20# C02 tanks for $80. Time to relax and have a homebrew.

That's a beauty of a bottling bucket! I used to feel this way about bottling. Now that I've bottled over 3000 bottles....meh.. not so much! It's not my favorite part of the hobby, but it beats a good day of work anytime! I just bottled one of two batches of my saison last friday. I'm bottling the other batch some time this week.. :mug:

Not too far behind ya on the bottling numbers, but I took a 10 year vacation. I'll be kegging again by this time next year, but I always bottle a few anyway to have for trips, contests, etc. That bottling bucket is an old pickle bucket that I have used over 15 years. It's a lot like me, a little worn around the edges, but all the parts still work and it gets the job done.

;)

I resemble that remark!

I hope to be kegging by the time the end of fall rolls around. I'm buying equipment little by little...
