Hey guys i brewed my first stout, April 28 and bottled it up on May 23. :rockin:

this was a lot of work, a learning experience about what bottles are good and bad.

Anchor brewery bottles are BAD, their lips are to short for the red capper i got. we broke like 3 bottles, the rest worked.

Sam Adams, this were great, capped cleanly.

Old Rasputin bottles, Great! capped cleanly

Corona, Great!

Old Harbor Brewery BOMBERS 22.oz bottles, GREAT! capped cleanly

Had a total of

32 12.oz bottles
and
8 22.oz Bombers
:mug:

since we broke some filled bottles, we filtered and drank the beer!:rockin: It was very GOOD! good enough to drink, hopy stout:mug:, i wish it had more bitter, but it wasn't sweet. My friends were pumpped up with the taste!

initial Gravity was 1.065
final Gravity was 1.018

great job!:)

for your health

PS ill be posting photos later

Nice, man, sounds delicious! Can't wait to add a stout to my queue, I might see what inspires me at the bar tonight. :)

I am going to test cap several bottles of mine filled with water -- I'm still around 2.5 weeks away from bottling my first brew. I have a slew of bottles taken from a crawfish boil this weekend. Oh, and I'm changing my next brew from a Belgian Blond to a Sweet Stout kit from NB, suppose to mimic Left Hands Milk Stout that I fell in love with and I dont do all grain

Hell yeah, nice pile'o bugs there. We did a 20-pound boil (plus 10 pounds of shrimp) for my birthday earlier this month. Good times, good eats, good friends.

I'm slowly replacing my stock of Corona bottles with amber coloured bottles, but never had issues with then as long as they were kept out of the light.

Mmmmmm nice looking feed you have there ctufano. Never had crawfish before as they aren't local. But I did have a feed of local Lobster and Blue Shelled Mussels this weekend.

HELL YES! Bet that was a great party! Youve got a great bottle stock!! why do big brewers use twistoff bottles?

last response cuz I'm totally highjacking, but ya it was incredible. My friends uncle came in town from Mississippi and brought 70# with him -- so we had 3 piles like that. He made them extra spicy with industrial size jugs of liquid boil and hot sauce -- was orgasmic to say the least. Add to that the sausage and mushrooms (first time for low country boiled 'shrooms) -- and a fridge stocked with beer. Wow.

ha ya its me and thats the first I've heard that but I can see it -- probably the open mouth and hair
