I just bottled my second batch. When I finished I realized that half the bottles have the wrong size caps. I picked up a bag of 29mm champagne-bottle caps instead of 26mm beer-bottle caps. They seemed to fit, but I wonder if this will create a problem down the line...

The problem is that it will take me a day or two to get out and get more caps. Do you think that re-capping in 2 days will mess up the carbonation procedure? or should I just let it go the way it is?

I would try twisting the cap. if it moves easily then recap, if not you should be fine. I havent stored beer for more than say 2 months or so with these caps, but they held co2 just fine for me

tie some clingwrap around the neck of one with a rubberband (tight)

If it inflates, it's leaking.
