It seems like when pouring from a can to glass that I get better head/head retention than most bottles not that its a big deal, I just notice it. Possibly a little bit more of a creamy mouthfeel also, but that could be from the head, and just in my head too.:) I would like to do a side by side though. Im shure it would make no difference.

Until more evidence can prove the minuteness of BPA lining and metal contamination I will stick with bottles as much as possible, but sample a can-only brew if I have to.

As for kegs, aren't they stainless steel? Not needing to be sprayed with plastic as it is not possible for aluminum to leech out.

Cans in concept are great!
Actual taste- cannot tell a difference.

I like both but I prefer cans. No chance of it being skunked. Pour it into a glass. The metallic taste is from putting your tongue on metal.

Mmmmmm....canned beer....

Sculpin from a can beats Pliny the Elder in my book. I feel pretty confident that canned Sculpin vs. bottled Sculpin would show a pretty big difference - it just keeps it fresher somehow. I am not sure what the mechanism is, but when you pop the can you can smell the freshness emanating from it. This is from someone who used to be against cans, so I'm pretty sure it's not a confirmation bias (though who knows?).

A lady on our tour at Red Hare Brewing (Marietta, GA) last week asked "Is the plastic inside the can BPA free?"

Really, lady? Go find a real problem to worry about.

I dare anyone to taste the difference between bottle and can when it's poured into a glass in a blind test.

I love cans for transportation and bottles for reuse. Cans are great when I bring beer back home from the US in my luggage, much lighter and no fear of shattered glass.

Read a few articles on how the inner coating is ever changing. So some breweries are basically using us as lab rats..Good times

Do not get me wrong if its a choice between one of my top choice craft beers in a can or a nat ice in a can we all know what will happen there.

Ya for sure, I would say the "health effects" of crap beer would outweigh any minor contamination. Especially against an unpasteurized beer.

Nothing new. Weve been lab rats for long long time now. We are the great human experiment. Theres no time for long term studies/effects.;) There is money to be made. By the time they figure it out the people will be long gone to take any blame.

We're talking about beverages with 4%-8% ABV, a toxic substance that causes tens of thousands of deaths a year. You're worried about plastic coating?

What's with people drinking straight out of the can/bottle? I don't get it.

I love drinking from a bottle! I started drinking beer from the bottle and still prefer it that way today. I can't stand to drink beer from a can, I don't know why, but I would rather go without than have a canned beer.

generations of BMC. my dad & uncles drink right from the can/bottle, so did both my grandpas, and their fathers before them.

You again?! You listen to me, Billy Klubb, you keep your damn comments to yourself! You just got yourself put on my list!

SanTan Brewing Company's Pale Ale convinced me that you can now get a great beer in a can.

I never would have believed it.

But for proper enjoyment always pour into a glass, you cant smell the aroma correctly out of a can.

(Cans golf course approved)

I was being serious that time. I think it's from the aspect of wanting to fit in with everyone else. especially when some Capt Macho says some crap like, "I don't need a glass for my beer. I drink it like a man."

I hate Captain Macho. That guy's a jerk.

For me, I get way too much carbonation release when I drink from the bottle. Makes it taste fizzy. Plus, reduced aroma. I even prefer to drink crappy beer from a glass.

I feel like I'm betraying my glassware if I don't use it. even if it's just a PBR. all the bar (yep, singular) in my town likes to keep their glasses cold so all the Mich Ultra Golden Light 64 drinkers can have the coldest off the tap. I hate all our bar.

I am a huge fan of beer in cans. It always tastes fresher and doesn't have the skunky flavor associated with old light-struck beer. It's also lighter weight, requires less packaging, it's more portable, and chills faster.

Love Brewery Vivant and canned beers. Their Big Red Coq and Zaison are great. I am actually beginning to think that an ipa's mouthfeel and hop character is better out of a can. Heady Topper and Norm's Raggedy Ass IPA from GriffinClaw have pushed this line of thinking for me.

Cans for sure. If I could buy every beer in cans I would. Beer even ages great in cans. I had a year old ten fidy that was absolutely delicious.

If you pour it into a glass, you won't get any metallic flavor.
