I found pint sized 6 packs of 7up and Dr Pepper for $0.33 per bottle. I bought $10 worth, took them home and dumped them down the drain. I'm not a fan of soda.

They are pretty sturdy looking bottles and I think they will suffice for home brew. After a bleach soak and a warm rinse I don't think I'll have a hint of soda taste. At my local HBHQ the same bottles would cost about a dollar each if you count the caps. I store my beer in a dark place so I'm not worried about skunking.

So far I've got over 2 cases of empty 15.2 oz grolsch swing tops, 12 22oz fischers, and about 2 cases of PET bottles.

Help! I'm addicted to hoarding empty bottles. :ban:

:ban:What's the cure? Kegs? I think I might need kegs too. hmmm one is not enough... it's going to have to be 2... no 3! Wait!? I'll need a Kegerator too. Ahhhhhhh! :ban:

I buy 24 oz soda in 6 packs to have 'travel' bottles when I go camping. When a porter is bottled in a pepsi bottle, it is disguised.

Awesome... :ban:

And I've never brewed a drop, but I have well over 100 bottles, mostly cleaned and de-labeled, stored in a 6 drawer side-pull filing cabinet. Getting prepared...lol

My closet contains eight full cases of clean matched bottles plus three mongrel boxes of unmatched bottles. Every single one started its life as a bottle of commercial microbrew in my fridge.

I bought a kegging system yesterday. My hoard is now a massive waste of space.

ive got 6 empties/box of corona light which i most certainly did not buy, and i plan on putting a tripel or strong belgian golden in so i can play jokes with them.

also i'd say about 60% of all my bottles are 500ml german shaped ones just from keeping them after drinking regular beers

If I had room to double my bottle stash I would drive down and help you out with your problem.

I hear ya!!! I have 7 cases of 750ml Belgian bottles... all are Unibroue Ephemere, Chambly, Affligem Doubles & Tripels, North Coast Brother Thelonious and Ommegang Abby and Three Philosophers....

Not to mention the 4 cases of Guinness Draught bottles!!! FYI, I took a brasing rod (you could use a wire coat hanger) and bent a small curve on one end and a loop to put a finger through on the other and I use it to hook and retrieve the widget. Then one knife cut down the side of the bottle and it's delabled and ready to roll!

I only buy bottles if they are on clearance!

While on vacation last week, SWMBO and I went to Pizza Hut for dinner. I asked the waitress if I could HAVE the two empty bottles of Point Amber beer I consumed, AS WELL as the two empties left from another customer! She rinsed out all four of them, and I dragged them home! Bottle Madness, indeed!:drunk:
