Soak in hot water for 15 minutes. Some suggest longer. Some suggest oxi clean to help out. Some brands are stubborn though.
 
Several threads on this - concensus seems to be soaking in PBW or Oxyclean (non perfumed variety) and peeling / scrubbing. Have fun - it's one of the glamorous parts of brewing. :)
 
I dunk them in a big pot of boiling water. The Paulaner bottles & amber bocks come off in about 12 seconds. The Great Lakes ones softened a little maybe,but ink got pale before I finally had to scrape them off. Then a dobie & PBW takes the gunk off inside & out. May just soak'em in big tub of PBW next time & see how that works.
 
After a good soak in PBW, you can pick the bottles up and the label will literally slide off. Haven't tried oxyclean.
