Pretty basic question for you guys. Im new to this and curious as some times i like to drink from the bottle when im to lazy to get a glass. Could i carbonate finished beer in the fermenter and then filter out the yeast when bottling so i dont have to worry about accidentally drinking the yeast from the bottle? Or is that just a dumb idea?

Many folks bottle off the keg after carbonating. There are some tricks to bottling already carbonated beer to preserve carbonation and avoid foaming - most use a beer gun or a bottle filler like BierMuncher's (sticky at the top of this forum). If you're talking about carbonating right in the primary you would need a fermenter rated for that like a pressure barrel or keg. You'd still have to rig something to bottle with a CO2 source I would think.
