I noticed when bottling my first batch this past weekend that Harp bottles wouldn't hold the cap likle hte other bottles - like Sam Adams. Are there different sizes? I couldn't use the Harps because they were crooked on the bottle and actually leaked a small bit. My neighbor gave me a couple 6 packs of Harp bottles which I am consdering throwing into the recycler. I also noticed that the Corona top was similar to the Harp. What gives?

I have found that there can be dimensional differences between some bottles. If you aren't having any luck with the Harp bottles, then I would say toss them. It is better to spend a few dollars on new bottles than to end up with a bunch of uncarbonated bottles when the time comes to imbibe.

A bench capper seems to be able to properly cap more different bottles than a wing capper. If you used a Wing capper, then maybe it was just a case of having a slightly different neck. Sometimes they don't grab the lip real good and the cap doesn't seal as nice.
