I used to live in new england. They had plenty of bars with awesome stuff going around at the time(and im an ipa hate squad member) esp in and around cambridge. And i never thought they were that bad in pricing. Even now living in Tx, seeing some of the tap pricing for 6 to 8 oz pours, i remember paying less at some places up north, even with the cost of living being higher.

course that was over 6 years ago now.

Instagram comments. I lol'd pretty hard.

Can they legally sell chocolate rain here?
Why not? Bruery has distro and dozens of different labels.

It does have to legally come from the distributor not just have the brewery/label approved in the state. But Choc Rain has been poured at fests in Boston, so it's certainly within the realm of possibility they managed some leftovers.

I'm fairly ignorant to the regulations and laws for liquor sales (and many other things) but I thought breweries needed to apply for each and every beer before they could sell it in a state and as far as I know Chocolate Rain doesn't see distro outside the brewery (or at least in Mass).

For label approval, Mass only requires the Federal TTB COLA (for out-of-state breweries, locals don't need to do anything), which the Bruery filed for in 2013 for Chocolate Rain.

Now this is a different story in other states (Looking at you, NH).

-Edit- This is one reason why Mass can have pretty kickass beer festivals featuring breweries that don't normally send beer here and featuring one-off/limited run beers. They just get a temp distro license and don't have to bother to get specific labels approved in state (again, assuming they got TTB COLA for the beer, which any brewery that sells in multiple states must do).

All I know is that I see 11 new Clown Shoes beers every time I step foot in a store. I just assume it's a simple enough process once the brewery distributes. Or at least it isn't worth the mental capacity of wondering aloud if they're operating in a gray area when I don't care about Mass. distribution laws to begin with.

Anyone seen any Bourbon County hit the shelves yet? Seems like people are actually waiting until the release date to sell it.

Does it make it into NH, or is it too high ABV, or whatever stupid reason NH has for an explanation.

Regular BCBS will be available in NH on Friday. Seacoast/NHD area might be getting some Regal, less than 15 cases for the state.

I wonder if any stores I know of will have some available. I'm just looking for a few bottles to carry on my vertical.

Not sure how much I'm getting but it'll be coming in off the truck on Friday. You going to be up in Merrimack area this week?

Yeah I'm headed home to see the fam, so I'm going to keep my eyes peeled. There's a bar that had it on tap last year, and no one there knew what it was, so I'm hoping for that again.
